“Stay strong skipper…” Former Pakistan cricket legends condemn Imran Khan’s arrest

New Delhi, May 5 (ANI): After former Pak PM Imran Khan’s, his cricket mates have come forward in his support. PTI chief Imran Khan was arrested by Pakistan Rangers outside Islamabad High Court. Violent protests were witnessed on streets of Pakistan as Imran Khan’s supporters went on a rampage. Amid this chaos, former Pakistan cricket players have shown their support for their captain. Pakistan’s veteran cricketer Wasim Akram in a tweet advised his “skipper” to “stay strong”. Another stalwart Pakistani pacer Waqar Younis tweeted, “Lets protect our Leader & freedom”. ‘Rawalpindi Express’ Shoaib Akhtar condemned Khan’s arrest and termed it “heart wrenching”. Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez also condemned Imran Khan’s arrest. Imran Khan, one of the top Pak cricketers of all time, led his team to victory in 1992 World Cup in Australia. Thousands of PTI supporters are on the streets of Pakistan protesting against Imran Khan’s arrest. Islamabad High Court ruled Khan’s arrest 'legal' and granted eight-day physical remand in Al-Qadir Trust case. On the other hand, PTI has approached the Pakistan Supreme Court against IHC verdict on Imran’s arrest.
