Doha [Qatar], November 15: QatarEnergy signed on Thursday with OCP Nutricrops, a Moroccan company specializing in soil nutrition solutions, a 10-year sulfur supply agreement.
In a statement, QatarEnergy announced that it will supply "up to 7.5 million tons of sulfur to OCP Nutricrops beginning in the third quarter of 2024."
The deal solidifies the business relationship with both OCP Nutricrops and Morocco, the statement quoted Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi as saying.
"This agreement marks a significant step in advancing cooperation between our two companies and fostering mutual growth and value for both sides," he said.
According to the statement, Qatar's annual production capacity of sulfur is around 3.4 million tons, which is expected to increase with the commissioning of new gas production projects in the coming years.
